When we moved into our house 3 years ago, we knew that something had to change in our backyard. It had little to no patio, roof-wise, but WAY too much concrete. With the Texas heat, the roofless patio and hot concrete made our backyard pretty much miserable. So, we decided to start sprucin’ this area up!
And, I now introduce you to our new favorite family member- the pergola! Isn’t she a beaut?!
We definitely still have some decorating to do out there as well as plants, BUT who does that stuff when it’s cold outside?! Not this girl!
I love even the simple things, like having a table with chairs to sit in and the extra lighting it provides. I can actually see when my pups use the restroom at night now!
Our plan is to build a pool back in the corner of our yard. Hoping to start on that this winter!
It really was a great investment, I think! I can’t wait until the spring/summer to finish it out and get all the cuteness going on out there! But, until then we will just be in awe of that chunky, dark pergola!
