Our sweet Joelle has made headlines twice since being home. I, for one, am pretty proud of my little girl, so of course seeing in the news makes me thrilled! I also loves how it shines a positive light on adoption!
I’ve briefly shared on this blog how my 2nd job has immensely blessed our lives {And I wholeheartedly believe that God has blessed this venture in our lives}. I absolutely LOVE being a teacher, I really do. I can’t say that I’ve always LOVED teaching, but in the recent years this is 100% true! One of the things I love most about my job is creating lessons and activities that get my kids excited about learning. Not that textbooks aren’t great ๐ but I enjoy creating things that will engage my students without them even realizing it. And, I started created lessons way back when I was student teaching. So, when I became part of the blogging world in 2011, it allowed me to share my lessons and activities with teachers from all over which made me love my job even more!
In January 2012, I started sharing the things that I make on a website called Teachers Pay Teachers. I had NO clue what this would bring to our lives, and I had NO idea that it would end up fully funding our adoption. So, once we brought Joelle home, I emailed the founder and told him how much of a blessing TpT has been in our adoption which led to a neat little highlight in TpT’s weekly newsletter. I’ve taken a screenshot of that newsletter and put it below…
As far as the 2nd spotlight for Joelle…
Jared is a HUGE UT fan, and always has been. So, we knew that the first outfit that Joelle just had to wear must be burnt orange. After all, she is a Texan now and Jared’s daughter so it was fitting, right?! Well, our sweet friends submitted our picture and a tidbit of our story to Texas Exes and it made the news right after we got home! You can see that below…
So, there you have it! Joelle is officially a superstar! Only kidding, but I did have to share these 2 little spotlights with you all!
