From what I just googled, tomorrow marks the first day of fall. Could it be true?! Might we finally be out of the summer months?! Normally, I am a summer girl through and through. I love short, t-shirts, and flip-flops. I’m also quite fond of laying by the pool to work on my tan, BUT this year I’ve just about had enough! I don’t know if it’s because I have a 4-year old now, but the heat has just about gotten the best of us. I’m ready to sit outside and watch my little love play without being drenched in sweat, ha!
The good thing about Texas in the fall is that we can still swim and enjoy the last bit of warm weather. We don’t have to pull out our winter clothes just yet! And we can finally go to all the outdoor places and enjoy ourselves again! So, this morning we decided that a trip to the Dallas Arboretum was a must.
It was a seriously beautiful day, and the Pumpkin Village is my favorite! We have spent the last few weeks trying to explain fall and Halloween to Joelle, so this was the perfect opportunity to show her what fall in Texas is all about!
Side-note… where did my baby girl with chubby cheeks go?! She’s growing into a beautiful young lady way too stinkin’ fast!
Precious! We aren’t sure if her teeth are ever going to grow in ๐
She tried to take several of the pumpkins home… umm that’s stealing, baby girl!
Houses made of pumpkins?! Yes, please!
Her favorite part was most definitely the hay maze! She ran through it a few times ๐
Is this real corn, Mama?!
She’s a daddy’s girl… no questions asked!
OHHH, and her hair?! I’ve been trying to tackle putting it into the perfect little puffs! We are loving this hairstyle because it lasts for a while and gives her the ponytails that she has been asking for! I *think* I may be getting the hang of it, but they aren’t quite perfect yet!!! Thankfully she is pretty patient with me while I’m learning ๐ We only shed a few tears this past time :/
Happy Fall, Y’all!

Great photos. I love seeing your family updates. Her hair looks good, but when you wash it if you don't already do this avoid using shampoo on her hair as it will dry her hair out and make it hard to comb. Try co-washing it instead and using shampoo every so often. My cousins who are all natural say the following products are excellent for natural African American hair: Aunt Jackie's Knot on My Watch or Kinky Curly Knot Today. You can find both products on Amazon. They also recommend avoiding petroleum based products and use coconut oil instead. I hope you don't mind me passing along this information. Your daughter is lucky to have you as parents!
